I was surprised to hear of such a late frost down there. We just had what (I hope) is our last in Sharon, Vermont. Out late last night covering the peppers, tomatoes and flowers with everything from flower pots to buckets to sheets. A light frost in the field, but near the house was fine. Better to be safe I guess. Still enjoying your blog. Keep up the good work.

I just spent the better part of my weekend reading your blog. A lot of stuff I have merely skimmed through making mental notes (and bookmarking) to come back to later. So much wonderful information. Well written and personable. I was kind of disappointed to get to the beginning, but grateful for 3 years of your thoughts and notes. Inspiring.

My mother came to visit for Memorial Day and somehow we decided that we wanted to try to make some Dandelion Wine. So we harvested 5 quarts of dandelions and got that whole process started. The next day I got to the part of your blog where you spent several days extolling the virtues of Dandelions and I was inspired to gather another 2 quarts of dandelion petals to make some syrup and even threw about a cup of petals into a jar and covered them with brandy for my first attempt at making a tincture.

I have lived on these 3 acres in Upstate, SC for about 7 years now and I've finally started an herb garden. Initially I wanted herbs for cooking and general aromatics. But the more I learn about herbs, the more I want to learn how to harness their healing potential. I've even decided to make room for "weeds" like plaintain, all-heal, jewelweed and yarrow. Your blog is so informative and inspiring. Thank you. Keep going. I really enjoy the days you're able to sit down and write longer posts.
